HERE I AM WITH MY NINJA CLAN

LOL no, I'm just being dumb, the whole time I drew this that was all I could think of. x'DD

ANYHOO. SO my friend Anna did a challenge here that I thought looked like a lot of fun, so here's my attempt (as of yet uncoloured)!

For my challenge, I chose Kentaro Miura's long-running series Berserk. It's not typically the kind of thing you think I'd be into considering it's fairly violent, dark, and bloody at the best of times, but hey ho. xD As I've complained everywhere, Miura's style was... difficult to use. You can see very little here because I haven't shaded/coloured, but it would show more clearly then. Because our styles are miles apart, I spent ages trying to imitate it before I drew this! /backstory

Everyone else (or many of the characters) are nobles or mercenaries, so... I decided to be a little different and made Beatrice here a thief. x'D She's the youngest of five siblings, with one older sister and three older brothers. Her backstory's slightly dark but so are most characters'...! Her eldest brother went off to become a squire and her sister was married off a long time ago, leaving her with her two older brothers. She basically thieved to support the family, but once her parents died she ran away due to not wanting to deal with her brothers' drunkenness and their tempers anymore. Beatrice's scars are actually from a fight she got into while travelling.

Her main trope was Little Miss Badass, which she fits almost to a T. Because she looks fairly young (she's actually about 20), is short, and doesn't openly carry weapons (I only drew her dagger and throwing knives for the sake of the pose), it's easy to think Beatrice is harmless, which she uses to her advantage to get close to people and take their valuables. She doesn't like getting very close to others and often tells herself she doesn't need to be/doesn't want companionship, and despite how lonely she gets she acts like she's fine. She also hates being treated as though she's weak (which she got a lot when she was at home from her family, and was commonly used as an insult towards her by her father).

In the series proper, Beatrice would probably end up following Guts's group around from a distance - when finally caught out, it would be likely she'd come up with some excuse like I DON'T HAVE ANYWHERE TO GO ANYWAY. After a while, she leaves the group, only to stumble upon Guts much later - at that point she's following him around to "learn proper fighting techniques"... never mind the fact that her weapons don't work the same way as a huge block of iron made into a sword. xDD;; She doesn't like being called Beatrice much because "It sounds too fancy for a girl like me", so most people just call her Bea.

I'll colour this once I'm done with the Curacao picture - but just in case anyone was curious, her hair is a kind of ginger-red and her eyes are blue, and she prefers to wear brown or grey clothing so as not to catch attention.
